I like all of the lines to this theme. It makes it feel very geometric and "everything has its place." However, I feel like there's only a passing movie theme to it: the popcorn container is a great bold introduction, but a quick scroll through only brings me to the tickets and that's it. I think making the clapboard brighter would help tie things together more.

The ticket image background appears blacker than the sidebar background.

Thanks for the input, Dan. One of the considerations I made when designing this was the assumption that a lot of movie blogs often include an image or two (a still, the official poster, etc.) from the film in question in each review, and I didn't want to overpower the potential content by hitting people over the head with a "This design is about movies!!!" approach.

I'll have to double check on the colour of the ticket background; I'm not picking up any difference visually (your monitor may be brighter than mine), but you may be right. :)

Being filled with movie posters and stills is an important element that would certainly give The Late Show a very different feel, and you're right, I think it would complete the theme.

I see the ticket background as #000000, whereas the body background is #111111. For what it's worth, I've been using transparent gifs for as many of these sort of things as possible. It eliminates a color problem such as this.

Oh I know the transparent .gif trick, it's just something I try to avoid using for various unineresting reasons. I made a concerted effort to use #111111 all the way through for the rest of the backgrounds; I might have made an errant keystroke and reset the background/foreground colours in Photoshop, and at a glance #111111 is pretty similar to #000000 so I didn't notice. Regardless, I'll be uploading a fixed version later on.

Great theme! I love the bright colors and clean lines. Perfectly appropriate for a movie theme.

Excellent theme! Fix those bg color issues and it's a great movie-themed style.

Looks good. I like that it actually fills up the screen.

I love it. My favorite so far. This one should win!

So I've been told that you can use this theme on livejournal through the custom css on the bloggish template? I followed the instructions from a 'guide' I found but I can't get it to display.

Anyone know if there is a rough time scale of when these templates will be available on livejournal?

We are actually working on it now. It may take a couple weeks or so, but this contest has caused us to introduce a lot of fixes and enhancements to Bloggish for LiveJournal users. So be patient - they are coming.

In the meantime, this is what I do to host styles from TSC on livejournal:

1. Download the style's zip file.
2. Upload the style's images into scrapbook
3. Change each url(IMAGE_URL) call to point to the scrapbook equivalent
4. Set my journal to Bloggish
5. Set my theme to None
6. Select "Use Base Weblog CSS"
7. Cutnpaste the style's CSS into the Custom CSS field
8. Remove @import 'base_weblog.css' from the style's CSS
9. Save and done.

It is a pain in the arse now - I admit, but it will get better.

Congratulations Liz. You don't know me but I've been in awe of your layouts and using your tutorials for a long time now, and I recognised your work instantly. The style looks awesome.

I love your style so much! There is one error I am experiencing. The top bar doesn;t display properly. The header with the pop-corn graphic (and where the title appears) seems to stop at a certain point leaving the rest of the space with a red background. The preview picture shows how it's supposed to be correctly, so I don't know if that particular part of the heading is not loading properly or not.

Nevertheless... I LOVE YOUR WORK!

Orlando -

I found that some rules for AdBlock Plus (and I'm sure other ad blockers) will block on the top bar... I added my site to the exception rules and it looks fine now.

I really like the design, except I think it's missing a good logo at top. I know the "Style Browser" at top-left is temporary, but it totally makes it look like a template. Otherwise it's a great layout.
